Jennifer Randall Nelson, BabyGoRound's founder, announced at the end of January that the time has come for her to step down from the Board of Directors. Most recently, Jennifer was responsible for partnerships and fundraising. Her current responsibilities will be transitioned to an existing board member and BabyGoRound will be filling the vacancy created on the Board within the next few months. There is currently a short list of candidates under consideration and any specific inquiries relating to Jennifer's departure may be directed to email@example.com.
We wish her all the best in her future endeavours!
Below is a letter from Jennifer to our Volunteers:
I began my journey with BabyGoRound 6.5 years ago. Lily, my youngest child, was just 7 months old when I had an idea. The first six months of this journey I spent researching, meeting with social service agencies, putting together a project plan, and devising a way to bring it to life. The next year, prior to opening our doors in 2012, I spent building the first board (a big thank you to the original founders) and began planning for the opening and operations of BabyGoRound.
I am extremely proud of the work that has gone into creating it, establishing and running BabyGoRound. I am overjoyed that so many families have been assisted and that they have been provided the resources they need to parent in the best way possible. And, I know this mission will continue to be fulfilled in the years to come.
The journey has been extremely rewarding for me, and I know it will continue to be, but in a different format. It is with extreme pride and gratitude that I say thank you for being part of my journey and for your support over the years.
So many of you have been part of BabyGoRound from the beginning, coming to sort clothes, work directly with the clients, and pitching in when needed. I am extremely grateful for your commitment and time over the years. BabyGoRound would not be able to offer the services we do without the support of our amazing volunteers. Many of you I have known for many years, and some of you I had the pleasure to get to know. It was, and I am sure it will continue to be, an honour to volunteer with you at BabyGoRound.
It may have been my idea, my commitment to getting it started, but I know it was the hands of many that made it a reality.
BabyGoRound has collectively impacted my life in ways I cannot express; I will always be grateful. And, I am honoured to be part of something that will continue to service our community.
Thank you for your continued support, and most importantly, I know the families thank you for your kindness, thoughtfulness and commitment.
I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Jennifer Randall Nelson
